6 recommended apps for web developers
Hello!
Today I was asked what Mac applications I would recommend to web developers and I thought I’d share it with everyone! So here it is, the 6 apps I can’t live without.
1. Grabup
Nothing is more annoying then taking screenshots and uploading via a image sharing service, copying the link and pasting it. Grabup takes all that pain away, all you do is take the screenshot, wait for the little icon to turn green and paste. Talk about time saving.
2. Skype
Talking to clients on the phone is ok, but nothing beats Skype. Skype is without doubt one of the most (if not the most) popular VOIP clients. High quality voice calls, video chat and the ability to call landlines makes this one of the best apps to have installed.
3. Coda
What’s web development without a good text editor? Coda shouldn’t even be considered a text editor, it’s more like a prayer answered to web developers around the world. Not only can you code, but you have terminal access, source control, sites management, live preview, and a nifty books feature should you need some help with whatever. It isn’t free, but it’s worth every penny.
4. Paparazzi!
Taking full website screenshots can be a pain, but not if you have Paparazzi! installed. All the screenshots you see on my website were taken with this amazing, free tool.
5. Billings
Billings is probably one of the best freelance management applications for your mac. It allows for you to manage projects, clients, invoice, track payments, and a lot more. This is definitely something you should have if you need to keep track of your clients and current projects.
6. Things
Things should be considered the best GTD application for the Mac. It has so many awesome features that you’ll never have to use another GTD application. The interface is just amazing and the way Things works is fabolous. If you have an iPhone there’s an application for it too, where you can sync and keep everything organized regardless of where you are.
I’m sure I have more applications to list here, but these are the ones I use the most, everyday. What about you? What are your favorites applications?
